March 26, 2012

This week was a great week! We tried to contact some old investigators from a couple years ago. One of the ones we decided to visit had moved. We asked the new people living in the house if they knew the new address of the old investigator. They didn’t but they said that the family next door might know. So we went over and talked to their neighbors. They didn’t know the new address. But as we talked to them about the church we found out that they had a Book of Mormon and had been taught by some elders about a year ago. They stopped being taught because they moved to the house they were living in now. They said that they would like to be taught again! That was a really cool experience because the Lord always leads us to the
people who are ready to hear the gospel.

Last P-day we got to go to the chapel in the center of Sobral and watch 17 Miracles. This was especially exciting because it only has English audio with Portuguese subtitles. We got to watch the movie then went to a member’s house after wards. They had tried to make waffles and "maple".
They don’t have syrup here and they call it maple. It didn’t have a whole lot of flavor and the waffles ended up sticking to the iron so much that they decided to just make really fluffy pancakes instead but it was still good. The members here are always so nice and try to help us Americans feel at home.

This is an avocado. They are HUGE! As you can see in the background the one I’m holding wasn’t even one of the biggest ones. Brazil is funny when it comes to fruit and vegetables. Some of them are huge like this and some things like bananas and apples are tiny. I think it’s kind of funny.
